Šonedēļ Valve veica negaidītu soli atceļot Portal 2 prezentāciju E3 pasākumā. Kā parasti Valve to izdarija gana interesantā veidā, taču lai vienkārši nenāktos apbēdināt fanus, Valve publicēja nelielu vēstuli, it kā no Aperature (Portal spēles pasaules tēls-uzņēmums).

Aperture Science is pleased to inform you that we have partnered with Valve to announce the gala CANCELLATION of the June 14 Portal 2 event at the Regal Theater. The event will be replaced by a surprise. And even though the cancellation of the event certainly counts as a surprise, we are pleased to further announce that the cancellation of the event is not THE surprise. However, per International treaties regarding the definition of the word “surprise”, of which both Aperture Science and Valve are signatories, the time, date and content of the actual surprise will only become available as you experience the surprise.

Tad nu pašlaik internetā sāk ceļot jauna informācija, kas tikpat labi varētu būt fanu veidota, jo Valve pati neko nav apstiprinājusi. Katrā gadijumā zemāk redzamai attēls ir sacēlis pamatīgu vētru un vēl jo vairāk ievieš pārliecību par to, ka gaidāmais pārsteigums varētu būt officiāls paziņojums par Half-Life 2 Episode 3 izstrādi. Vai vēl labākā gadijumā Half-life 3 izstrādi.

Tas, ka Valve beidzot ir nolēmusi turpināt savu sen aizmirsto projektu, ir pat ļoti iespējams. Par cik Left4Dead seriāls ir vairāk vai mazāk pabeigts, vienīgais, kas bez Portal 2 varētu būt izstrādē ir Half-Life turpinājums vai arī pavisam jauns projekts. Esošais plakāts gan diezgan precīzi norāda uz seriālu, un apstiprina fanu cerības, taču tikpat kā neko precīzi nepasaka par seriāla turpinājuma veidu, kas varētu būt tieši Valve garā. Turēsim īkšķus, ka 14. Jūnijā patiešām tiks paziņots Half-life 2 turpinājums, lai kādā formā tas arī nebūtu.
